Here are just a few days of remembrance I found …

Australia, New Zealand and some South Pacific Islands …
Anzac DayAnzac Day.   April 25.  The anniversary of of the first major military action fought by these two countries during WWI.

Armenia …
Armenian Genocide Remembrance Day.  April 24.  A national holiday for Armenians around the world to commemorate the victims of the Armenian Genocide of 1915.

Belgium, France, New Zealand, Serbia and many other countries …
Armistice Day. November 11.  Celebrating the signing of the armistice that ended hostilities on the Western Front of WWI.

The British Commonwealth …
Remembrance Day.  November.  To honor the achievements and sacrifices made in past wars.  In England itself, the Royal Family gathers outside every November 11 starting at 11:00 am for a two minute moment of silence.

Israel …
Yom HaZikaron, Israeli Memorial Day. Spring, a week after the end of Passover.  Israelis set aside a day to remember the soldiers who have lost their lives defending Israel.

The Netherlands …
Dodenherdenking (“remembrance of the dead”).  May 4.  On this day, they celebrate all of their country’s civilians and military personnel who have died in conflicts since WWII.

South Korea …
South Korean Memorial Day.  June 6.  To honor those who died during the Korean War.  At 10 am, a moment of silence is held as sirens sound throughout the country.  The Korean War was precipitated by splitting the whole of Korea into two different countries, North as Communist.  And South which is the most advanced Democracy in Asia.

Obviously, there are many more that are not included here.  If this type of thing interests you, open a new window and start looking things up.

As always, I love to learn from you!  Please share what you find in the comments below so we can all find out new stuff about our world!
